"Primordial Love", is a term that Dante writes and explains how God made Hell out of love. It does seem weird that God would create such a place of pain and suffering out of love for his people but he makes it in the on the idea of karma somewhat. He gave us free will in our lives and the ability to make our own choices in our life and whether or not you use them for good or bad your place will be determined. This can explain why the damned are so eager because they were eager to the do the bad thing in life, they knew that if they did these things they would go to hell and so it as if they are eager for hell itself. Even though that Hell is the worst place that a person can possibly be put in, it is as if certain souls want to make it across the river of Acheron and finally get told which Circle of Hell they belong in. Their choices in life with their free will allowed for them to actually choose their punishment. God's love and how he had given them this gift in turn makes it possible for not God to decide this punishment but rather, the person them self is choosing how they want to spend eternity in the afterlife.
The Inferno is now even related to recent news like the Hurricane that hit the poor country of Haiti. The author writes that it was like God had brought hell and the inferno itself to Haiti for all of the corruption that was supposedly going on there. Here is a link to the man's article. He writes about the Inferno in the first paragraph then goes on to talk about the destruction the hurricane brought. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/jim-luce/the-dichotomy-of-haiti-he_b_780220.html?ir=Travel.Another man, David Macaray, writes about politics and the relation in how Dante put hypocrites and liars behind murderers. He makes the comparison at the end of his piece discussing about three of the levels. http://www.counterpunch.org/macaray11152010.html
